About Dr. McCormick
Dr. William McCormick is a board-certified neurosurgeon who, for over 20 years, has performed both cranial and spinal surgery on thousands of patients. Dr. McCormick has specialized in the management of back and neck pain and is proficient in minimally invasive spine surgery, as well as more complex spinal instrumentation procedures.
Dr. William McCormick received his undergraduate degree from Amherst College, and his medical degree from the University Rochester School of Medicine. He completed his neurosurgical training at the renowned Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio where he performed extensive research in spinal surgery biomechanics and was the recipient of the Department of Neurosurgery Humanitarian Award.
Dr. McCormick is the President of the Medical Board of Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, New York. He is also the Chairman of the Neurosurgical/Comprehensive Stroke Center Peer Review Committee for Good Samaritan University Hospital and the Medical Director for Long Island Brain and Spine. He is a member of multiple medical societies, including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. He has published dozens of peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters across all subspecialties of neurosurgery.
